What size line to put on my baitcasters?

Featured Replies

I have one reel w/ 30# power pro for pretty much everything, another with 50# for frogging and spinner baits through tough cover and am debating what to put on my new reel? I want something light but now to light. What do you guys suggest, and what size line do you guys have on your setups.

I have 10lb on my light setup, I tried 6, but it didn't go well.

I have 14lb on my medium setup, it works well too.

I have 20lb on my MH crankbait rod that works well too.

I have 20lb on my heavy rod too.

Those are all, braids, and all specialized setups. IMO, 20lb braid is a good size. If you need to go to a light or non visible line, throw on a leader. If you want to use mono, 10-15lb would work well. No comment on spooling up Fluoro.
