P LINE or line suggestions

Recommended Posts

I have been using the Pline evolution copolymer.  I hate it.  This stuff has so much memory when i let my lure sit on the ground the line is so twisted it looks like a cork screw.  Many people use the cxx.(the green box) and i am wondering if this is anything like the evolution which in my opinion sucks.  I hate memory in line.  What lines do you all use that has NO MEMORY?

Braid. everything else will have a little memory. And technically braid has a little memory also. Silk might not have any memory though.

I also hated P-line.  I only use it for tippet material now for fly fishing.

Braid is your answer.

I use the P-Line CX Premium 20#.  While it and all Mono, Copoly, Fluoro in the heavier test have some memory, I control it with the KVD Line & Lure.  Give each reel 2-3 squirts before I load them in the boat and they are good for the day.

While I also use braid for some applications, there are places for mono and fluoro.

I used CXX and have controled the memory problem with KVD line and lure conditioner.  Last year I respooled several times, and didn't think twice about it because I loved CXX.  With KVD this year I have yet to re-spool.

Spinning tackle: #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test)

Baitcasting gear: #12 Ultra Soft (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test)

Threat these lines with some KVD Line & Lure Conditioner and you will virtually eliminate memory.

Pline CX Premium is some limp stuff.  It is the 'Trilene XL' of Pline's lineup.

This is what I use as well and I really like it.  It has a smaller line diameter per pound test than most other lines and its virtually invisible.  I use 15# test on most of my reels and there have been times when I have really tested out this line.  Tough stuff and its a breeze to cast.

P-line CX is their best for spinning but still has a lot of memory for me.

Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft comes highly recommended but is difficult to find in my area and I hate to pay shipping cost for line.

Suffix Elite I have used on spinning reels and it has very little memory and is very strong. You may want to give it a try............Al

I think line choice is always going to come down to personal preference, because each person is looking for something different from his/her line. I hate line memory, some guys don't mind it. I also want a line to be super strong, especially abrasion resistant. I have tried them all.. and for me its...

#1 choice - Sufix Elite 14lb

#2 choice - Sufix Seige 14lb

In my opinion, there is no other line.  P-Line is definitely the strongest, but has terrible line memory. Trilene XL and XT are great lines, as well as Yo-Zuri hybrid (have not tried ultra-soft, but the hybrid was not as abrasion resistant as the Sufix for me).... but in my experience, nothing holds a candle to Sufix. Mega-strong and almost no line memory. And you won't have to treat it with anything. Try it.
