I have both the regular Hybrid and the Hybrid Ultra Soft. What are the differences between the two? Which do you like better?

Thanks

The original Hybrid has a higher percentage of fluorocarbon in the formula so it is less visible in water. I use the #4 when I'm trout fishing on the White River. I have also been experimenting with #15 and #12 on baitcasters. After being treated with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner, they behave pretty well. I may go back to original Hybrid on baitcasting gear.

The Hybrid Ultra Soft has less memory. In use, this line is virtually memory free. It was designed specifically for spinning tackle. I use both #4 (.009" diameter, 8.5 lb test) and #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test).

Does the regular Hybrid float?

Good question. RW does it float like the Hybrid Ultra Soft?

I like the Ultra Soft.  I just really hate the memory and the Ultra soft, like RW said, just does have any in use.  I love the stuff!

Both original formula Hybrid and Ultra Soft float, but let me be a little

more specific because we have had some discussion defining "float".

The lines are not buoyant like a bobber or PFD, when submersed they

do not float to the top. Yo-Zuri is more dense than water and "floats"

as a result of surface tension, like a bug walking on water. This has

absolutely no impact on fishing a weightless worm or Senko, but it will

not draw down the nose of a topwater lure, either.

I agree, I use 15lbs on my baitcasting gear and love the stuff. I use it for spinnerbaits and light pitching.

I used mono for more than 30 yrs before thinking I needed a change. I took RW's advice on the Ultra Soft and real glad I did :P!!!
