Always palm with my pointer finger sitting under the line for more sensitivity

With spinning, right index finger over the support.

With baicasting, left index finger over the trigger.

Fundamentally the same.

Cool glad it works for you-

When I palm baitcasters its trigger between right ring and pinky with my thumb over the back of the reel index finger just above the line guide.  On my spinning gear the reel support is between my right ring and pinky with my index on the rod blank.

I palm my reels most of the time. But as AnthonyRSS mentioned, I've seen Shaw do it too. Well, I decided to try it out this year with my plastics. It was a little awkward at first but now, its no big deal.  

Palm; 2 finger in front of the trigger, two fingers behind the trigger and my thumb on top of the reel.

I do not nor have ever fished with anyone who uses a BaitCaster....When I picked up my first one.....I felt it to be more comfortable and controllable when I palmed it.

I just thought I was strange....
