Shimano Crucial Rods

Featured Replies

First of all I'm new to this site and it's been a pleasure reading alot of your posts. I've learned alot for this site. Being new to bass fishing (Fly fisherman most of my life.) I was looking into getiting and casting rod for texas rigs and came across a couple diffrent shimano models on clearance first is a compre for $49.99 and second is a crucial for $79.99. One thing I did notice on the crucial is it didn't have a slpilt rear grip. I was just wondering if that's an older model? both rods are 7ft medium power. The compre is a fast action and the Cruical is a Ex-Fast. Just wondering which one would be prefered by you shimano guys?

Thanks,

Jacob

I think the only Crucial models with split grips are the drop shot rods. I would go with the Crucial and those are real good prices!!

Just bought a Crucial M weight and XF tip myself. Sure wish I could have got it for THAT :) price and  WELCOME to the forums!!!

Crucials for $80...wow I could've bought 4 for what I paid for my Loomis's....tell us where.

great buy tho...

You've got a crucial for $79 please tell me where?  They are great rods and for that price I would buy 3.

I agree with everyone else, get the Crucial (or a few ;D). I love mine.

They're at my local sportsman's warehouse.  They got some sort of clearance on alot of their rods up to 50% off.  They even have a couple st croix avid drop shot rods for 109.99 and a couple legend tournment rods for 129.99.

I have the Crucial 7' MXF.  It is a great all around rod.  I just wish I got mine for $79.

Buy the Crucial and don't think twice.

Jeeze at all of those prices you mentioned, I'd max out my credit cards, buy out the whole stock with the intention of selling them for a profit, and then probably end up keeping them and going into debt  8-)

Crucial for 80? No question. Standard price is $140

Buy an extra or two dozen and put them on here.... they will get snapped up like candy!!!! ;D ;D

Flippin' stick has a split grip.

Went back tonight and picked up the last 7ft Crucial! WHEW! and to find out remaining St croixs were gone as well.  I asked the person work why they where clearancing alot of their rods and the reply was they just don't sell alot of spinning rods or casting rods compared to the amount of fly rods they sell, so their cutting back their supply.

That rod feels really sweet. can't wait to try it out tommorrow night! I do have one more question? They just put out some falcon lowrider rods on clearance rack and was wondering if any of you had some feedback on their Flippin' Sticks, they're on clearance for $59.99. I had a tourny couple months ago and was just a little bit under-gunned for the condtions :) (10lb. test on a 6'6" medium Rogue casting rod.) Yeah that didn't work to well.

Thanks,

Jacob

That sounds like a good deal on the lowrider flippin sticks.  I have heard nothing but good things about falcon rods.  I think the lowriders are usually around $100 or maybe more.

If I needed a flippin stick I would be all over that.
