sinking poles

Featured Replies

I've dropped my rod in the water twice while fishing. One sank to the bottom and I managed to catch the other before it disappeared. Is there anything out there that I could buy and attach to the butt of my pole that won't be too bulky and that will keep my pole from sinking??

To the butt, nope, there ain 't no butt flaoters, however there are rod floating devices but you install them on the blank right in front of the fore handle. Check the BPS site.

I think I would get me a set of  large weighted trebles and drag the area where the pole sank, to try and retrieve it.

Yea that's the Blakemore® Rod Floaters  : http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_16517_999034012_100000000_100004000_100-4-2

Never used one so can't comment any further...

Would like to know why you keep losing rods in the water?

Are the butt grips to slick?, do you have arthritis?, not paying attention to what your doing?, or just clumsy?

Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!

Ive got a handful of them but a spinning combo is the only thing that works well with them. On a BC the line rubs the foam so you can only cast about 10 feet.
