Fishing line color prefrence?

Featured Replies

can anyone give me a good rundown on which color line to use in different types of water?

I was on the Yo-Zuri web site in which I intend to use on my reels and since the water I tend to fish is a stained greenish color I was thinking the camo green would be the optimal choice but I'm not sure.

From previous posts the smoke color (smoke purple?) would seem like a good choice as well.

Any recommendations?

Original Hybrid:

Clear water: Green

Stained water: Smoke (smoke purple)

If your water is always "stained" green because of suspended algae, I would probably opt for green line.

These lines blend very well and are virtually invisible. In snmaller diameters, the "clear" resembles a pure fluorocarbon, but tends to stands out in larger diameters.

Hybrid Ultra Soft:

Green is always the better choice, but I have some "clear" (white)  which works just fine. Going forward, I will buy green.
