Just weighed a Carrot...

Got a new 6'9 MHF in today, was getting ready to throw a reel on there when I decided to weigh it.

6'9 MHF LTX weighs 105.45 grams.  28.4 grams per ounce.  Therefore it weighs 3.7 oz.

All I know is that it is lighter than squirrel feathers.   :)

I weighed mine with a letter weigher a few weeks ago and I believe I got 3.7 for my 6'9" as well. Pretty cool...

Must be something in the water, mine weighs the same.

I guess consitency is a good thing amongst rods. I remember Avid saying he liked G.Loomis because he knew what they would feel like for a particular model and that they wouldnt change.

Consistency is key in rod manufacturing. But despite performance, i cant bring myself to buy a Carrot Stick. The reason is that where i come from (NJ/PA) the fishing can be good, REALLY good, but in key spots. A lot of guys run around a lake and see if youre catching fish, and if they see you, theyll come right in on you. Im sure this happens elsewhere too. I just dont want an opposing angler to see a BIG BRIGHT ORANGE BEND in my rod. It kinda makes me stick out like a sore thumb, ya know?

From NJ.....yes E21 and 357 Mag......

Its an epidemic, especially on lakes like Greenwood and Hopatcong.
