Hey guys. I been using a shimano sedona now for about a month and im just not sure if im all that happy with it. Its the 1500 size and its on 6'6" gander guide series ML. with 8lb fireline. Ive got about a week to decide if i want to keep this reel or take it back and get the Okuma Epixor.  

So i would like opinions Okuma Epixor or Shimano Sedona.

Not even close the Okuma wins hands down. The higher end Okuma spinning reels are better then Shimanos or Diawas around the same price. Actuly you have to go well over the Okuma price range to get a better reel from Shimano or Diawa. Now this is only for the higher end Okuma spinning reels starting with the Epixor. I havent used any lesser models then the epixors. I have about 5 of them and I use them in saltwater and have caught hundreds of salty bass and abussed the reels and they are still smooth and strong.

Everyone that owns an Okuma spinning reel seems to really like them.  I've never really seen any complaints about their spinning reels.

...but it does go to show that Okuma impressed the TT folks.  (9.05 is a phenominal score, even under their old scoring system.

Well, I received a STX as a gift, but otherwise, I only fish Shimano.

After reading that review and this one:   http://www.tackletour.com/reviewokumafina.html  I'm thinking about checking out one of their mid-range spinning reels.  

Whatever you do, don't get the lower-end Okumas. They'll do fine for a couple months then break down. I have a couple old ones to prove it  8-)
