I really don't think I'm gonna use the rods.  I think the plan is to return 2 of the rods to academy.  Can get 160 for the reaction and 110 for the spinning.  I'm gonna buy like 270 in tackle and line and tackle box etc.  The other rod I'm going to return to BPS and then sell the gift card.  After tax it'll be like 170 in credit.  My gf's mom is gonna probably buy the gift card since she was planning to buy some bedding from there so if I sell it to her for $150 basically I end up spending $55 for $270 in tackle.    :) :) :)

I'm just returning rods for store credit.  I don't believe its be illegal.  Whether it is morally or ethically right is debatable.  You may not agree with what I plan to do but I do understand and respect your opinion.  I only ask not to get flamed.  :)

Sounds like the current mortgage banking industry.

Money here; money there.  :)

If you don't think it's illegal why don't you call the stores you're planning to pull this switcheroo on and ask them.

"Excuse me.  I purchased these rods off of Craigslist and I'd like you to take them back for me for store credit even though I didn't buy them from you.

Would that be OK?"

If this deal you're trying to pull with these 2 companies is on the up and up I'm sure they'll give you a big

or, more than likely

get back to us and let us know how the conversation went.

You should get flamed. I hear of people doing this all the time. Its taking advantage of a company's liberal policy concerning returns. Keep it up and soon they won't quite so liberal. Then, we'll have tons of threads complaining about retailers not providing customer service because they won't do refund or exchange for legitimate returns. People like you will ruin it for us honest folks.

You sure got that right about this being debateable. Go for it since scruples appears to be something you lack. It's almost as if you couldn't contain how "slick" an idea you concocted and had  to share it with everyone here. Such intentions are better left in the dark for if only to not cause what you didn't want, and that is to not get flamed.

If I had the popcorn smiley, I'd post it right here.  I hope they demand to see the receipt. Good luck with your transaction.

If you want the money from them then sell them on ebay or the flea market here.  Taking advantage of the store's return policy for your personal gain is debatable AT BEST.

And if you don't want to get flamed, don't do something that begs for it and you won't get it.
