boundary waters
Northland mimic minnows for walleyes and smallies Fat ika, beaver, craw, or any other bait you can crawl slowly on the buttom and also use for bedded fish. I've caught bedded smallies in mid june up there. Top water baits I like something smaller for smallmouth like a regular spook or devils horse, than a super spook or baby wake for pike and big smallies. Spinnerbaits, and bucktails 2 of each should be plenty plus 1 buzzbait. 1 or 2 crankbaits like minnow raps, shad raps, or flicker shads good for trolling behind the canoe going across the lake 2 spoons which are also good for trolling behind the canoe pike and lake trout love em That should cover everything from top to bottom and all 4 species of fish your likely to want to catch.

Favorite Fat Ika Color
I don't see a difference in the amount of fish I catch as long as its a dark color.

Fat Ika Convert.
You ever try rigging them forward and working it a little faster in heavy current? It works great.

NEW world record bass caught lake biawa, japan!!!
What point are you trying to make here? The big Cali bass are Florida strain bass too. Theres more involved than just the strain when it comes to 20+ pound bass.

One Piece vs Two Piece Rods
I only use 1 piece rods. None of the 2 piece rods I've used in the past felt right in my hands. Never really had any issues traveling with 1 piece 7 or 7.5 foot rods. Even camping trips where you have to canoe/portage everything in its never been a problem. I do plenty of shore fishing throw thick woods and still no problems. Just depends what your used to and how willing you are to adapt to carry the long rods.
-
if you HAD to pick
Its not practical cause I do throw alot of weightless plastcs and alot of baits over 2 ounces, occasionally 4 ounce baits too. If I had to choose I'd take a medium heavy 7 foot st.croix legend elite, zillion real, and 15 pound cxx line. Although this rod is rated to just 1 ounce I have succesful fished heavier baits up to 2 ounces. If my fishing keeps going the way its headed I might drop the mh for a swimbait rod.

What's a "Beautiful" Reel?
I think low profile reels are fugly. I like the look of my Luna.
-
How often......
Between hunting and fishing usually 3 or 4 times a year sometimes more.

High dollar reels catch more fish?
When comparing a cheap real to a mid priced one I think you will catch more fish here why less time messing with bird nest more accurate cast more reliable

P-Line CXX Memory
Tie you line to something sturdy. Walk away and reel in with alot of tension. It tightens the line on the spool which makes it cast better and it also makes it easier more managable. I do this with all lines.

My new favorite flippin/big bass combo.
I'd go heavier than 20 lb if you are going to use braid.

world record muskie
Do a google search for "Ryan Dempsey Muskie" estimated over 70 pounds caught before season by a walleye fisherman in greenbay.

Favorite crappie recipe
Coat the fillet in flour than dip it in beaten eggs, then coat it with bread crumbs. Put salt, pepper and some cayenne pepper in the bread crumbs. You can experiement with different seasonings too. Keep enough oil in the pan so it comes half way or a little more up the side of the fillet do each side till its nicely browned.

Need Help with River Smallmouth!
All you really need is a grub or small swimbait like a mimic minnow for smallies in rivers. Adjust the weight to the current your fishing in.

smallmouth "big problem"
crawler, circle hook, light line

world record muskie
Is there a fish swimming now that big enough to beat it? Where is a likely spot for it to come from? I think it will be broke in the next 5 years by a great lake fish probably green bay.
-
biggest fish.
Spray's fish is still the world record everyone is trying to beat even if it isn't official Alot of people out there that think it wasn't as big as reported also. I think the reason they took it away was cause he shot it with a handgun before bringing it in the boat. Its still listed as the state record for Wisconsin also. I pretty sure theres a 70 pounder swimming in greenbay it just has to be caught.
