hybrid question

Featured Replies

so i just bought a spool of yozuri hybrid( not u.s.) and i was wondering when tying a polomar knot with this line, should i wet it first to prevent slippage? btw, i love this stuff. it lays on my bc really well and is a big change from p-line. it has little stretch and is pretty darn sensitive. i thank rw for pointing this stuff out.

Regardless of the brand, all copolymer, monofilament or fluorocarbon

line needs a little spit to reduce friction when you tighten down a knot.

This applies for all knots, not just the Palomar.

Which is better the original or the ultra soft?  I have both of them and am just wondering which to try first.

Thanks, ;)

The original Hybrid is stiffer, but if you are using KVD Line & Lure Conditioner, you will find the line very manageable. For spinning tackle

I find the #4 and #6 work well. On baitcasting gear, #12.

Ultra Soft is targeted for spinning tackle and is noticably limp compared to original. In use, the line performs much like braid: virtually no memory! However, initially the line will have some coiling as a result of being stored on your spool. After a few casts this will disappear.

Good luck, I think you will like both versions.
