im also wanting to get the nitro rods , i want the 7' 10'' XH,H,MH for use with swimbaits and all my other ways of fishing , they look very good and have very good reveiws . but if tackle warehouse gets the okuma's back in stock i might go with them since the nitro rods are no longer on sale , they are back to 169.99 . and for that price , i am also debating the POWELL  max cast swimbait rods . i hope other people respond to your post , im very interested too ... :)

I have had the best luck with BPS rods. As a matter of fact my 4, yes 4 favorite rods are 20 year old BPS spiral graphite rods. I just bought a new extreme with a bait caster and have been very happy. I will definately buy more when needed. Personally I see no reason to buy another companies rod. JMHO and YMMV

BPS rods are very nice for the money. especially when they are on sale.  By the way the Nitros are still on sale at $119 in the Christmas Catalog and so are the Johnny Morris Signature rods.

The only thing I don't like about the BPS rods are the Power Hump Grip, not very comfortable for me.

Later, :)

I have found all bass pro rods to be of great value. I have 10 of them...or somewhere around there.

BPS rods make up my entire rod arsenal and I am very pleased with them.  Very much worth the money, especially when on sale...The Power Hump doesn't really bother me because my hand placement is at the reel seat...Not quiet sure the point of it anyway.

Good value? YES

Well made? YES

Decent performance for the price? YES

As good as the big name brands ? (St Croix, Loomis, Fenwick, etc...)No, but I still fish a few even after upgrading to St. Croix, and Fenwicks.

I've got four BPS rods that have been pretty good so far.

6'6" MH Extreme "Woo Daves" worm/jig casting rod

7'0" MH Extreme casting rod

6'8" ML Extreme "Woo Daves" split-grip spinning rod

6'6" MH Johnny Morris Signature Series spinning rod

I'm more of a spinning reel kinda guy so the last two get used alot more than the first two.

The JM Signature Series is actually pretty darn nice and well worth the money when you can get them on sale. I paid $100 for mine on clearance, but I'd have no problem shelling out $125-$150 for another one. I think they're currently listed for $200 on their site, which is a bit more than I'd be willing to pay...but they'll be marked down again in a few weeks.

I just picked up this exact same rod for $79!!!  Haven't fished it yet but am looking forward to it.

:)

I was going to buy the matching casting rod for $79, but they're apparently sold out now.  :'(

They're leftover '07 models, so I'll just wait until next spring and buy a leftover '08 on clearance instead. :)
