Hi!

I've heard that there are persons that are dissapointed with the Rec guides.

Would I have any problems using a rod with them for a heavy cover techniques?

    If the rod is suitable, the REC guides should be.  I had a Johnny Morris Elite HM/F 7' that I used for heavy plastics and it worked fine.  I never particularly cared for the guides.  I know some people that think they are just fine with braid, but I've seen some pictures of REC guides that were grooved by braid.

    My Loomis GLX has recoil guides and I like them.  I use it with worms but not braid.  Don't like braid.

    do some searches on recoil guides (here and rbo) lots of mixed opinions on them   :-/
