I scored 50lb moss green for my BC's and think Santa will be adding a couple spools of 15 & 20 for my spinning gear.

My question is colors, whats good for what, your thoughts Please.

Thanks

50lb Power Pro is a good line for frog/buzzbait/jig/swimbait fishing, which is what I use it for in green.  For these purposes green works for me.  If you are going to use it for jig fishing, green would also work and if you have fairly clear water add a floro leader.

The Tidal Potomac is usually 1-2 ft of visibility, so I never use a leader for jig fishing.

Hope this helps.

most guys i know either use a leader or color the last 6 feet black.this means you can use whatever color you like.a lot of guys are using high vis yellow when doing this.i use green.

I fish Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence river in crystal clear water and use green 50lb Power Pro for my jig and creature fishing in thick milfoil.  No leader or coloring the line needed.

I've use a Sharpie permanent marker to color the end black or brown.

Good Luck

I've only used the green.  I have it on one bc rig for casting spinnerbaits through the grass, as well as slop work.  I have it on a few spinning rigs that I use for grubs and jig-worms around grass.  In open water I use a fluoro leader with a uni-uni knot.

I also use one of the spinning rigs, with leader, to cast jigs/live baits & plastics to inland lake walleye.

I only use HiVis Yellow because it is easier to see on windy days which it when I fish mostly.

Its so much easier to see yellow than green.  You will see your line jump way easier with the yellow line.    If I am fishing where I think the fish can see my line I will either use a fluro leader or a sharpie and color the line black.

X3  SOOOOOO Much easier to see.  I use a sharpie to darken the line for the last 2-3 ft and a scent to cover the sharpie smell, if there is one.
