Reversing line -memory

Featured Replies

Been reading a p :-?ost on how to reverse the back line to the front on a reel. How is the memory on the back line when you do this and what do you do to correct it.

One way to reduce the effect of memory whether or not the line has been reversed or not is to tie the line to something before you start, walk off more than a cast's worth, then lift the rod to tighten and stretch it before reeling it back on.

totally agree.  either KVD or RealMagic.  Every fisherman should keep a can of this in their tacklebox/bag/boat.  Works wonders everytime.

as M.R pointed out, while you still have your line on the spool, spray KVD line spray on generously (enough to make it look like you've doused everything).  Let it dry overnight, and you have new line again.  it's amazing.  For better results, strip about 25 feet of the old line and then spray.
