Upgrading rods....recommendations

Recommended Posts

I am looking to purchase a couple new rods this year and wondering if anybody has some thoughts on brand and lnie  ie: Avid, Mojo, IMX

I have 2 avids and 2 IMX right now.  i am very open to suggestions.  I don't need them for any particular application, just time for a few new stix.  I have been looking at the GBlanks, B and R Outlaw, Grandt, and of course the good ol standby loomis and croix.

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

IMX or GLX MBR844C

If you don't have one, you need one!

Okay then, for something more unique: PR844S.

This rod is a popping rod, designed for light salt water.

Obviously, that means it's well suited for topwater, but

for me, it's my dedicated smallmouth rod used to fish

live bait. I also use it occasionally for swimming soft

plastics (Slug-Go, Kreature and Swim Senko). It also

comes as a baitcaster, PR844C. The rod has a soft tip,

but once loaded it is a powerful weapon.

I have a 843 not a 844, I don't use a lot of heavy lures so I haven't spent the money on a really good heavy action rod yet.

I know it seems silly, but the MBR843 is a COMPLETELY different

rod than the 844.

I go Loomis always. They have the best warranties and rarely stop making a model of rod. I honestly believe each companies has its strengths some make better crankin sticks some worm rods but Loomis makes good rods for everything. Just my 2 cents. :)
