finese baitcasting reel

Featured Replies

anybody know who makes a light finesse type baitcaster in LEFT hand retreive?

thanks

shimano curado 201e7, i use mine mainly for finesse but do throw 1/4 oz rattletraps on it from time to time. BPS pro lite, and if your rich, get a daiwa ito alphas, or pixy, or pixillas, those reels look insane.

I tell you what, I'm in the process of getting all of them ready for the upcoming year right now (cleaning, lubing, and modding), as soon as I get them all ready I will post some pics. You really want to see a "collection", dig back through some of RedlineRobert's posts. I am only the Padawan, he is the Master.

Thanks Man  :) I'll be looking forward to it. Redlineroberts collection is rediculous! haha have a good one.

i like the bps finesse but i think it only comes in right hand. i like the curados i just got two of them last week, the 201dhsv. i didnt know shimano made smaller versions

sean, dude you have gotta get the shimano curado e, they just came out a month- month and a half ago, i guarantee you love it. They are tiny! haha but they have the same line capacity as the 200 series...

good luck

-Jason

If you want a new curado for finesse fishing, you should just step up to the chronarch 50mg, a better reel for the same price as the new curado E.

Shimano Scorpion 1001Mg get my vote!

There are really only 2 choices for finesse baitcasting:

1.  Daiwa Pixy

if you're really into pushing the envelope

2.  Daiwa Presso

It's hard to beat the Shimano 51Mg. I have 5 of the right handers and they handle light baits with the best of them. JMHO

I agree with the Shimano 50/51 Mg. I have a few myself and they are fantastic reels!

Daiwa Liberto Pixy

Daiwa Presso

Daiwa Sol

Daiwa Alphas Type F

Daiwa Alphas Itö

Chronarch Mg

Curado 100/101D

Scorpion 1000/1001

Scorpion 1000/1001 Mg

Conquest 50/51

Any of them is a finesse baitcaster.

If I were on the hunt for a finesse baicaster none beats the price of the Chronarch 50/51 Mg fot $187@ TW.

i got a shimano chronarch 50MG a couple of months back and i finally took it out to the local lake to try out last week. i could toss 1/4 oz. trout lures further with it than my spinning outfit. the other bank fishermen around me were amazed and several came up to ask me about what i was using. when i let them hold it (mounted on a shimano crucial CRC-D70M) to see how light it was, it was ooohs and ahhhs all around. the left version is the 51MG and tackle warehouse has 'em on sale. highly recommended.

if you're on a budget, i have two of the bass pro shops prolite finesse reels and they're surprisingly good. IMHO, the B version (which BPS is currently clearancing at $70) is better than the new C version.
