need some shimano help

Featured Replies

Hey looking at buying a Saros but dont know what to get.  The 2500 or 3000.  I just plan on using it for small/light baits with no more then 8lb line.  Want to keep it small.  How much bigger is the 3000 vs. the 2500

Great question. I am in the same boat as you are and am wondering the same thing. What rod are you pairing it up with? I would love any opinions on a 6'6 rod for a saros.

Shimano's 2500 sizes are best for bass fishing.  With 8lb test, I'd get the 2500.

The body of both reels should be the same size.  The only difference between the two is the 3000's spool is bigger.

Please consider the 2500 size.

Also, check out the reel's specs for the different line sizes and then make up your mind based on how you will fish the reel.

Let us know when you get it and what you pair it up with.  :D
