US reels

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried them on here, spinning or baitcasting?  I tried doing a search, but putting US and Reels in search basically brings up everything under the sun.  I would like to try a wider spooled spinning reel to see if it does help with memory and casting.  The technology they use on BCs seems awfully different on their website.

An guy from Cabelas told me its mostly marketing and that the wide spool doen't yeild much benefit

I've never used one though

That good huh? ;D

To be specific, the reel had rough spots, is heavy,

unbalanced and holds WAY TOO MUCH line for

a spinning reel. The pricing point at the time was

right on top of the Stradic and there is NO comparison.

As I recall, one of the features they touted was a very

strong drag which is ridiculous for any reel when the

suggested line is 4 lb test!

>:D
