Which spinning rod for skipping docks?

Recommended Posts

Just curious what size rod you use for skipping docks. I have become pretty god at skipping docks with a a baitcaster, but i know I would be much improved if I started skipping with spinning gear, even though I hate spinning gear. I just got a good deal on a fenwick 6'0 M action rod. Goes from 1/8-1/2. It seems pretty thin though. The rod goes for close to $100 but goy it brand new for $40. What does evryone else use and do you you think this rod is sufficient. I know a lot of guys like smaller rods for skipping docks.

It would depen on the type of dock, floating docks, yeah shure, a Medium rod would be ok, but for something more solid I don 't think it would cut it.

...... why am I giving my opnion 'bout which rod for docks ? there ain 't no docks where I fish !  ::)

I would skip with a 5 1/2  ft. or 6 ft. rod so you are good there.
