hey guys i have been reading on this site for some time now and i guess since i did not take notes i cannot remember what you guys use for certain baits, rod wise....

what do you use medium wt rods for? i have been using them for only cranks and maybe un weighted worms, senkos or what not and T-rigs.

also what do you use MH's for?  this is usually my all around rod weight for Crigs, topwater baits, spinner baits, jigs, jerk baits, pretty much everything else except for cranks...

any tips would be wonderful.

I have found that it is not as cut and dry as that. For the most part it is a guideline. I have found that with certain rod manufacturers you may want a Med or MH for T-Rigging. I set up myself solely based on a particular manufacturer and how their rods respond to a presentation. Unfortunately there is a lot of trial and error until you find what is suitable for you. The one standard I found is for crankbaiting or any treble hook presentation you want a Moderate versus say a Fast. For Plastic you may want Fast or Extra Fast if fishing a weedy area. This is for both Med and MH.

What Unc Leo said...the only thing I would consider is not always going mod for cranking, I have a MF rod which works well with cranking small/med shallow cranks.  It has a pretty soft tip

My preferences are a

7'H for 10'' worms, carolina rigging, small swimbaits, smaller jigs

7'6''H Flipping Stick for flipping jigs or heavy t-rigs

7'MH for spinnerbaits, deep cranks

6'10''MH for standard 7'' t-rigs, smaller finesse type jigs

6'6''M for lighter T-rigs, tubes, baits in jig heads

6'6'' M Cranking Stick

7'MH spinning rod
