Id like to get more knowledgeable on line selection as far as what type of line to use for certain techniques. right now im preety much flourocarbon on everything except for topwater

pitching/flipping: Braid or braid with fluoro leader

d-shot: fluoro

shakey head: fluoro

swimbiats: fluoro

topwater: mon (doesn't sink)

cranks: fluor

spinnerbaits/buzzbaits/rattletraps: fluor or fluor coated like yo-zuri hybrid

Frog: BRAID

c-rig: Braid main line and mono leader (floats and keeps the bait over grass and rocks)

I use braid for jigs, plastics, and frogs, and mono for everything else. I have never tried flouro.

i dont use much flouro. i use flouro as leaders for Crigs and maybe deep crankin' and braid as the main line. for everything else its mono either 14lbs or less.  i aim for around 10lb test if i can get by with it. seems like the heavier the mono the less fish i catch. dunno why that is. well the main lake i fish is somewhat clear. not mountain clear.

i can agree with that. i think a lot of folks really key in on the extreme technical stuff about fishing and get their brains racked with so much info they take the fun out of fishing. imo... on top of that you spend a lot more money. i dunno i have noticed with myself that the more technical i get with fishing the less i catch. maybe its luck or maybe all of this thinking and analyzing is keeping me from using common sense and what i have learned in the past for my own lakes and ponds. just something i noticed, i am sure its not true for everyone else

I agree.  With only a few setups I fish:

12 or 15 lb Big Game on my "all purpose" bait casting setup

10 lb Big Game on my bait casting crankbait setup

8 lb Trilene XT on my "all purpose" spinning setup and

6 lb Trilene XL on my finesse spinning setup

All purpose basically means single hook applications.

I've also got some 20lb braid from my spinning reels on my spare spools.

I think that the article also puts way too much emphasis on the visibility of braid.  I haven't noticed a significant difference in number of bites between braid and mono even in fairly clear water.  

Also, the tackletour.com flouro test debunked the "no stretch" flouro claims.  The flouro that they tested streched as much as the base line mono that they compared it against.
