Help!!! frozen rods and reels

Recommended Posts

like a complete idiot i left 4 of my best rigs out on my porch after my last outing and then we had a huge (for NC) snow storm and my rods and reels got completely covered in ice and snow.  they have since thawed but i'm wondering if there is any damage to the rods or reels from this??  is there anything i need to do before using them again?  please help.

thanks,

Josh

Rods and reels should always be rinsed after salt water use. I don't see why this is any worse than that. They weren't submerged for any period of time.

Rods should be fine. Reels probably should be too, but if you are really worried about it open them up and see if there is any moisture inside. If there is clean and re lube.

Clean, dry, and lube, and they should be fine.

They should be just fine.  Reels may need a little oil.  They only got wet so its just like you fished in the rain.
