quality crankin rod on a budget

Featured Replies

Looking to upgrade my crankbait rod.  My price range is probably nothing over 120.  Any suggestions?

Browning Silaflex, All Star Crankin' Rods, and BPS crankin' stick.

BPS Crankin' Stick on sale right now for $49.94!

St. Croix makes a few "crankbait" rods in their Premier series of rods that I would look at, you should be able to get these for $90 without searching too hard.  I would personally look at the PC66MM or the PC66MHM, but it really depends on what you plan to throw.

the bass pro crankin stick is a fantastic rod for the price, or even for twice the price, I have yet to pull a hook on a fish with it.

The BPS crankin sticks are probably the best buy within the entire BPS rod line.  Although I switched to All Star, it certainly wasn't because I wasn't happy with the BPS crankin sticks.  Great rods at a terrific price.

I have two that I like pretty well:

Team Diawa S 7'0" MH Crankbait/Spinnerbait specific. Its a little over $100. I like this for what its recommended for. The flex is good for spinners and deep cranks.

Fenwick HMX 6'6" M Mod. for around 80-90. I use it more for lighter cranks, topwater, and jerkbaits if I dont want or cant use spinning gear.

I'm in need of a crankbait rod at the moment to throw shallow to medium crankbaits. Most likely 1/4 bandits to 3/8 and very few 1/2oz's.

I can't find a compre crankbait rod anywhere locally. I was wondering why everyone like the BPS crankin' rod? How is the sensitivity on that rod and is the fast tip too fast? I really want a crankbait rod that I can feel what my bait is doing and the crankin' stick got a lot of bad ratings on the bass pro site.
