Featured Replies

can anyone tell me what is the best line to use for fillpin a 1/4 to 1/2 oz jigs thanks

15lb Trilene 100%....17lb for heavier brush.

Just switch out Trilene 100% for Pline CXX if you are a mono-man.

I like 50lb braid / 15 and 20 lb CXX leader.

No memory to deal with, strong as hell, and sensitive.

Well...you aren't going to break off running that setup.

I would suggest either trilene 100% floro, or bass pro xps floro for docks and clear water. If you are fishing really thick stuff, go with some power pro.

Sensitivity a little.  No way to prove you get an extra bite or two, but I believe you do.

Thanks for bringing that up, I lost two good fish the other day with 20lb cxx leader.  Twas a bad day.

Wow...I've never even broken 15lb CXX.

CXX breaks every now and again.  I broke off a bait that was priceless (Only 10 or so every made) on 30# CXX.  As David put it, "Twas a BAD day"

There is no "best."  There are only opinions on what an individual considers to be the best.

Berkley Big Game 15# Mean Green @ $7.99 for 900 yards I can change line every other trip & still smile about it.

#12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid covers it all (baitcasters),

but if you want to kick it up a notch, #15 for

jigging line. Number of times I have been broken

off by a fish: -0-

8-)

Fishing jigs with braid for me, Sufix 50-65

Same here.  Especially if you plan on jigging where most don't have the nads to.  Nothing worse than getting the bite and then not having the tools to bring it home.

Open water and in grass, 12-17lb will work.  Pick a brand, only one I would avoid like the plague is Vanish.
