Rod Tip Problem

Featured Replies

I went fishing yesterday and had a great outing. When I cam home I unloaded the truck and went to the back to get my rods out. I was pulling my baitcaster out when the door closed and cleanly cut the rod tip off. I do not want to buy a new rod. I saw at walmart that they have rod tip replacement tips. It was my tourney special setup and my first baitcaster.

Do they affect the action of your baits or are they not worth getting at all ans should I just get a new rod?

Power and action will change...  If you just lost an inch or two, it might still feel ok... if not, you might like it for something else. Either way, you'll need to put a new tip top on it and see what it feels like. Any tackle shop should have tips in stock in various sizes... and 99% of them will install it if you buy the tip.
