I've been spending some time at a new Tackle shop I found in seekonk.

I bought a spinning setup the other day with some advice from here. I bought a Shimano saros 3000 and a med/hv rod. Awesome

After reading about the awesomeness of baitcasters and really getting excited fishing. I had to go buy a Bait caster. I bought the Shimano Curado 200e7 and a heavy fast action matching rod.

Bill Q who owns the Bill's Bait shop went way above and beyond by taking me outside and gave me a 1 on 1 clinic on casting and technique. This guy can hit a half dollar from 100yds. He showed me stuff that would take me months to learn on my own. With his help I was casting nice and smooth in 10 minutes.

I love this Curado so much!! Awesome

I think Shimano's brakes and casting controls are the easiest to learn on. You made an excellent choice and I'm glad you got the hang of it so quickly.

Baitcasters are addicting, started with them this year now I don't like put them down.....

This guy can hit a half dollar from 100yds.  

BS, no wayy 100 yards is mad far...300ft. Most people cant cast that far period, let alone hit a half dollar. KVD couldnt do that.

As for your combo, you'll get addicted to the baitcaster and will want a new one and so on until you have about 30 combos

im no professional bass master. but i just picked up my first baitcaster and are in the same boat as you man. im in love with it. i got it down pat in a day or so. and now when catfishin or something it feels so awkward using a spinning reel. i aint got no fancy shimano like yours. but i love my abu garcia

It was pretty amazing to see the accuracy of a skilled baitcaster. I can't wait to get that good at it.

There's show on tv called basspro, if you get it watch KVD cast a shallow crank in between boats...that dude can cast..

Is 100yds even possible? That is a whole football field. I'm trying to visualize from one endzone looking to the other and it just seems like that would be way beyond possibility.

Or maybe I'm just bad at casting...

The e7 is a great reel, the vbs takes some practice so good luck.

i could see a baitcaster goin that far if it was saltwater openface tho no guide bar.  anyone who has ever thrown irons on a jigstick can tell you they just keep going and going and going.

ive been using a baitcaster since i was 11 or 12 cant remember which just know my dad got me a Lews when i was round that age. i like the spinning for small poles and when in heavy bank cover otherwise i fish my Pfluger
