Love those bass pro extremes

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the green 79$ bass pro extremes.  I love those... all the smoothness, it's got like 7+ ball bearings to boot.  I really liked the Shimano Curduros but they were 120+ when 1st out now close to 200$.  I also like my 7'3" Carrot stix... and hey its got a lifetime warrenty for those problems, reel seat, guides, ect.  As good as they are my next rod for the money probably be a Falcon Cara.  Super sensitive and light rod.  Sucks they are 175ish though.  Let me know what u guys think??

save yourself some money and get last years model for $39 on their website... i picked it up last week and have used it a few times and so far so good... its my first BC so im not the expert, but its worked well for me so far  ;)

I have an older Extrem..cast's great, ect..I find that I need to adjust it more than my Shimano..but heck for the $$$ they are tought to beat. Just have it serviced when needed, and ya should be fine.

Somehow I've wound up with 4 or 5 of them.  I've found them to be more than adequate and at $39 ea. they're a "reel" bargain!  Also like their service as they've fixed mine for free whenever I've had a problem.  Know there are fancier ones out there with more bells and whistles and probably more durability, but for the average fisherman I'd have to say they will more than do the job.  JMO!  Good Fishing!

The BPS extreme is a great reel for the price and application. My base price on any reel is over three hundred bucks. I fish everyday, and a few tournaments so I need a reel that can take the everyday abuse and keep up with me. The extreme, and most other house reels are good for part timers/weekend crowd.
