Deal or no deal?

Featured Replies

I was at Dick's the other day and they had a Abu Garcia silver max b/c and berkely lightning rod combo for 49$. It seems like a good deal, I know lightning rods sell for about $40 but I couldn't really find prices for the reel. I saw reels on ebay going for about $40-$50. What do you think?

You are basically getting the rod for free with that combo.  The lightening rod is a pretty good rod to start out with or use as a backup.  I would say it is a good deal for that price.

This is a great low priced combo. My dad has one and loves it. I've used it some and was very impressed with it.

Its a good deal for a low end combo, especially at that price

I picked it up today. Now I just have to figure out how to use it (first baitcaster)

That honestly is a good price. I don't know about the rod, but I have a silver max and it is actually a good cheap reel.
