Abrasion resistant Mono/Copoly

Featured Replies

What are your guys' favorite mono or copolymer lines in terms of abrasion resistance? I need some more line and i primarily use copoly to throw cranks through rip rap so I need something that is quite resistant to abrasion. Suggestions?

PLine's CXX is probably king in that department.

X2, just don 't over do it, you really don 't "need" more than 12lb test.

PLine CXX is the King of abrasion resistance.  I think I could use it to cut firewood and then still catch a 10 pounder.

I hung a crank in a tree last week, jerked on it a few times, then jerked it out.  The line was as smooth as it was when I put it on the reel.

The only thing more abrasion resistant than CXX is steel cable.

Excellent comparison.  ;)

Big Game and XT are good lines, I use them too but they are nothing compared to CXX.

Is the Cxx consistant ?????

Yes, in the heavier weights it always coils like a slinky.   ;D

Yeah, forget about spraying line conditioner too, it will still coil like a slinky.   ;D

It's great as an anchor line...  when you are done, it winds itself up for you!   ;D
