P-line cx or pline cxx

Featured Replies

Whats the difference between the two?I like yozuri hybrid ultra soft but I can't find it any where around here.

This will be primarily for spinning reels in 8 or 10 lb test.

The extra X.  ;)

Kidding aside, CXX is tougher, meaner, more manly version of CX.

In the larger diameters:

Has more memory than a pack of elephants

Coils like a friggin slinky

Behaves like wire

But you can uproot stumps in case you hang up.  :o

In the lower diamters like 8 or 10 these problems are a lot less.

So would cx in 8# or10# be a pain to use on my spining reels?

CX 8 lb. is all I use on my spinning reels.  I like to think of it as a high class Trilene XL.  It has less memory than YZ Hybrid Ultra Soft, a slightly thinner diameter, but less abrasion resistance.

Its going to hit the fan when RW sees that.

The truth hurts.  Hybrid and Hybrid US both have horrible memory.  I can deal with the memory of CXX, but even 6 lb. US has enough memory to make me hate it.

Quick! Call 911.  ;D

IMHO there aren't many Pline lines that don't have memory up the ying yang, CX or otherwise. Not a bad thing necessarily, but it sho is ugly to look at. ;)

I have 8lb cx on two spinning reels and Gamma 8lb on two other spinning reels.  I've only fished with the Gamma for one trip so don't have much of a frame of reference.  I like both lines but it seems to me, initially anyways, that the Gamma may sink a little better.  Other than that I didn't see a noticeable difference.  Anyone else using Gamma, and if so, what do you think of the line compared to Pline cx?

cxx is hard to break thats all i know i fished cxx 8# and landed nice stripers in rocky areas and it held up great.. i have 10# on my baitcaster and its pretty good, it doesn't throw as good as yo-zuri though in my opinion, but i believe its stronger only because i've recently broke a couple LC with yo-zuri...

I use both on but BC's, 8-10lb cx on a finesse rig, cxx 12 lb on a general mh rig. I am going to switch to 6lb or 8lb cxx on the finesse rig I just have more confidence in it, and I have broken off the cx on snags too many times. I have Gamma 10lb on anther bc and it is good as well.
