I got a $65 gift card to Cabelas and the nearest one is like 300 miles away so I half to spend it online and I dont have any idea what to get, any ideas.

It all depends on you, let me ask you a few questions to get a better undertsnading.

1. Do you fish tournaments or recreation?

2. Do you have a boat?

3. What is your tackle lacking?

4. What are your rods and reels lacking?

Dont currentlly fish tourn. Yes I have a boat, tackle box lacking alot. Have one good rodℜ

What is your strength?

Finesse?  Power?

If finesse, consider finesse baits and tackle.

If power, do the same.

Do you need topwaters?  Buzzbaits?  Poppers?

Do you fish during the winter?  If so, do you need pointers and jigs?

Do you fish in structure?  Jigs, plastics, wacky and Texas rig tackle.

Do you fish deep?  Carolina rigs; deep running cranktbaits; lipless crankbaits.

Do you need any jigs?

Do you like Chatterbaits?

Want to try some tiungston weights?

Do you like the new swimbaits?

Just think how you want to fish and what tackle will help you and then have some fun and use that gift card.

First, you need to take an inventory of what you have, that way, you will know what you have plenty of and what you lack.

Second, what types of fishing do you do most?  Jigs, plastics, crankbaits?

Now, do you want to try new baits in the types of fishing that you normally do, ie, if you like to crank do you want to try a new brand or type of crankbait?  Or, do you want to try some totally different techniques, ie, you have no jigs and never jig fish, so do you want jigs?

Nothing worse than a fisherman with $ to spend.  When I was young, I would agonize over gift cards trying to get the perfect stuff.

Thanks for all the input and would be happy for anymore. My biggest problem is that I am just know getting back into fishing so I dont have much and dont know exactlly what to look for. I havent fished in 6 or 7 years and when I did fish it was for what ever would bit. So in that case any helps good help.

Decide what you want to try in 2008 fishing? Last year was my serious fishing year and i wanted to master the jig.So i brought nothing but jigs and trailers.Think about what you want to do.

I don't have alot of money so i come up with a technique i want to work on once a year.2008 will be my year of treble lures(topwater,jerkbaits and cranks).I really want to get better at treble lures.Already have my confidence in jigs so that'll make 2 things i'll be better at by 2009.
