Skeet Reese Revo

Was on the way back from Tampa and stopped by a local tackle shop that had a Skeet Reese Revo priced for $160 (psss I didn't tell them it was mispriced)!  Anyway, I ended up buying it to see if I finally have success (e.g. no bearing problems, no line guides falling out) with Abu's Revo series.   Wish me luck, it will take over spinner bait duties usually assigned to my Curado D 100 or it may even displace my Zillion High Speed as my new frog reel.   Keep your fingers crossed.

Decided to give the Skeet Reese designed Revo a go today.  So I took my Zillion off my GLX  ;), and gave the GLX a new mounty.  First impression was WOW!  I was casting 1/2oz baits and it easily matched or bettered casting distance of the Zillion.  The big deal was the weight, had to keep checking if was on there, compared to the Zillion the Reese Revo is a light weight!  Haven't experienced the annoying bearing noise I was getting from previous Premiers either.  Lastly, I really like the fact that the reel has no magnetic brakes and uses a centrifugal system like my Shimanos! So far so good, I will keep her on there for a bit and see how it does.

I've been looking into Revo SKT, as well as the Premier reel.  So far, SKT looks good on paper.  I wonder how long it has been out in the market? (maybe since ICAST '08?)

i picked up one off this site for 190 brand new...instantly turned into my favorite reel...and im a daiwa guy

I'm not fond of the paint job, six pin brakes, but the weight of the reel is nice. I'll stick with the sx, hasn't let me down yet.

i got a skeet about three weeks ago. love it so much im going to get one more. i got mine for 190 i feel its the best reel for the money. i put it on my carrort stix and its under 10 oz its crazy light.i wish it came in a 7.1

Guess what!??? ;)

Another REVO issue, that makes it a perfect 4 for 4 on all Revos I have owned. 3 Premiers and a Skeet Reese, I don't understand! All within the first week or two of ownership!!!

This time I set up on a bass in the junk and bent my paddle handle. Never in my life have I had that happen! So I called Abu to see what they could do, and I have to send them the whole reel in for repair. I asked how much a replacement handle cost and they said $17, but its on backorder!

Although, the darn reel cast great and is light as a feather in my experience Revos are like Quantums when it comes to reliability, but worse! Look for my Skeet Reese to be in the Flea Market for $175 shipped when I get it back from Abu send me a PM if interested in buying it.

Guess I should have stuck with another Daiwa or Shimano. ;D

man that sucks. i would think they would fix it for free for you?^^i have a few daiwa and love them too. ;)
