Zebco reel question ????

ok so im trying to get my pops into bassin and would like to set him up a spin cast outfit. anyway i could have sworn i watched a tv show awhile back where a zebco spokesman was on talking about there new reel designed to use braid. i cant for the life of me find it anyone know what reel that is or am i trippen

I don't know, but for an occasional fisherman there are

WAY too many issues with braid. Just clipping a tag-

end is a deal stopper!

Get him an Omega and use the line that comes with it.

Otherwise, spool up some Trilene #8 XL and all will be

well.

I wouldn 't recommend braided line in a spinacster, the line is going to rub against the pick up pinon and those things aren 't exactly meant to stand abrassion.

Now getting a good spincaster is going to cost some money, good spincasters like the Zebco Omega, Daiwa Gold Cast and Abu 's Abumatic are pretty expensive ( 40-60 dollars ) and those in the 30 dollars range are not exactly the finest, if you are going to shell 50 bones in a reel for your pappy better get him a good cheap spinning reel, at least with those line twist doesn 't become heache.

Set him up with a good open face spinning reel ,their not that hard to use and offer less problems.
