Falcon BuCoo

Recommended Posts

Hey just ordered a few Bucoos from Falcon.. anyone used the 7'0" MH casting? I was really excited to get it, but read 1 review that it is a really soft rod that is probably better for cranking :). already got 3 cranking rods... anyone got one?

I actully bought the Mh and returned it.  It is a very soft rod, really light and well balanced but way to soft for my taste.  I returned this rod for the H, and still this rod is a little to soft in my opinion.  Hope this helps.

This is typical of Falcon Rods. Their Heavy Power act like most MH Powers. I have found this is the Cara and a bit less in the Lowrider Series.

When you get em be sure to let us know what you think of em. I'd be interested to know how they compare to the higher end rods as far as weight and sensitivity. Also I'd like to know if they're a little tip heavy or not.

finally returned from vacation and got my BuCoos. I think the 7MH is fine!.. very very light-weight and sensitive. A lot more than my falc originals. And for those who say it is the same blank as an original, it is not. the 7MH Bucoo is probably more suited for smaller soft plastics rather than jigs, but I will post tomorrow when I set the hook on one.

its not soft... i guess everyone has different preferences, but i set the hook and pulled in a bass no problem on a 3/8oz jig today..

Uncle Leo is spot on. Falcon's generally aren't as fast or powerful versus other brands of the same power rating. I would go up at least one power rating.

FYI....the Bucoo is said to be the Falcon Original blank packaged in a split grip format.

i have all 3 series of rods and i agree with the Original not being as fast as others. it is IMO still a good entry level rod for lighter finesse plastics. my Lowrider is a M/M so its hard to compare speed. the Cara T7 seems to be plenty fast. ive only tossed 5/16 oz jigs on the rod but id say theres a good tip there.

on the other hand, ive yet to use a really good heavy jig rod.......so...

define "said to be". like...you read a post from someone ? or you talked directly to falcon? I talk directly to falcon and got the all the info. I also use the originals too, and can tell you from first hand exp.

Its different graphite :)

He speaks the truth guys! I LOVED my Caras but ended up selling them mainly because of this! A H/F is like a MH/Mod F to me.

I have a 7MH lowrider, and recently picked up a 7MH Bucoo. It is a little softer, but prefer it for weightless t-rigs and lighter jignpigs. IMO if you're used to stouter rods; you could call it extra medium fast ( i think they call it mag medium, not sure.) For a bill, it is a great rod for me, but I don't really use the stouter rods much anyways.
