yo-zuri hybrid ultra soft....loading question

Featured Replies

after reading so many good things about the Yo-Zuri ultra soft...

i have finally ordered some 6lb (tests out at 11.9...right RW??  :D) for my spinning gear.

question..

how to load it on my reel... from top or bottom of spool??   :-/

thanks..

Load it from the top, like you would with a baitcaster.

This is not really an add-on to RW's reply. Any time you're loading line on a spinning reel, after a layer or so of line, drop the tip of your rod down to the spool. If the line starts curling up, TURN the spool over :D...

Check your reel's instructions. Some reels with an anti-twist line roller recommend loading like a baitcaster, with the supply spool held in an up-and-down position. If this is not the case, then the supply spool should be laid down on a flat surface such that the line comes off it in a counterclockwise direction. The twist that this causes will mostly offset the clockwise twist that occurs when line is going onto the reel spool, thus the line on your reel with have a minimum of twist.

Oops!

That is much better advice and the way it should

probably be done. Some of the newer Shimano

reels are suppose to be spooled as I described,

but most reels probably require spooling as Marty

suggests.

so "what marty said" for spinning reel also??  :-/

like Marty said, but I always check to see if the line twists by stopping and giving some slack.  If it is I flip the spool over for a bit and check again.
