Revo STX reel oil

Featured Replies

Will the oil my dad got with his Revo STX work on the worm gear of one of my Zillions?  Is it a good oil for that purpose?

Is it Abu Silicote?  If so, its junk.  Didn't we answer this question in the three other oil threads you posted?

It's just reel oil with no label.  And I was wondering about this oil specifically. i don't want to put a bad oil into my reel and have it compromise it's performance.  I do have some Daiwa oil coming in, but it is on back order.

Ok the only oil that comes packaged with reels from the manufacturer that I don't, won't, use is Quantum's. I would use Zebco oil first. I don't think the label-less bottle of oil that comes with the revos is Silicote so use it. The red oil from Daiwa is a reel oil, or Daiwa wouldn't put in the package. Same with the Shimano oil. My oil is about the same viscosity of Shimano's oil, and I stand behind it.

To beat the rest that will follow up with their recommendations there are many more lubricants out that state they are ok for fishing/marine use.

You got my recommendations.... :)

Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!

The one thing to remember when lubricating the reel...."Less Is Best"   8-)
