Quantum code/burst, Pflueger purist, or Diawa exceler?

Featured Replies

What does anyone think about the pflueger purist or the diawa exceller and the quantum code or burst?

I wouldn't even consider the Purist, the others would be good choices, I have a code and it's a good reel....didn't you already post this?

Daiwa Exceler seems like an awful lot of reel for the money with aluminum frame and 9 bearings for $80.  No experience though.

i would spend $99 AND GET A PFLUEGER TRION NARROW SPOOL.never buy a reel with a graphite frame.

I just picked up a Quantum Code not long ago and it seems to be a good reel.  It has a solid frame and is very smooth.  It aslo gives you a flipping (should be called a pitching) switch that comes in handy.  I still like Shimano reels better but I cannot make any negative comments about the Code so far.  I feel that you would enjoy one if you got it.

I am still looking into this and really it comes down to the code or the exceller.
