I haven't thrown the Rojas rod but I have 2 of the KVD 6'10" Spinnerbait rods (TKVDC6106F) and they are really nice sticks.  The taper is perfect for what it was designed for.  I would recommend them based off of what I have seen in the KVD rod.

I've only used the KVD series rods, and would recommend them highly.

I go with a guide out of Ft. Pierce, Florida, in addition to being a guide he owns a tackle shop too, so his options are unlimited.  He fishes nothing but Quantum rods Quantum Cabo reels.  I've used his equipment a number of times and I liked it, I just bought a Quantum reel.

I suspect he has a pretty good relationship

with the company and his sales rep. It really

comes in handy when you fish disposable gear.

There is a lot of talk that the "new" Quantum

is producing higher quality products. I would

suggest waiting a few years to see if that turns

out to be true. In the meantime, there are plenty

of alternatives with proven track records.

I have the same rod paired with a Curado E7 and absolutely love it for 3/8-1/2 oz spinnerbaits.

A $200 Cabo reel being disposable?  This is a fine reel that many prefer over the competition, I doubt that mine will find a dumpster anytime soon, always comes down to personal choice.  Perhaps the opinion in the quotation box is written out of personal loyalty and a relationship with another manufacturer.  I personally own a number of different brands and my Quantum stands up to competitors in the same price range.

There is nothing wrong spouting accolades of products that one feels strong about, but to belittle another product based on opinion is a disservice to forum members.

Quantum's reputation is for shoddy products.

That is the whole point.

The new "Next Big Thing" doesn't count.

The proof is in the pudding.

Quantum's reputation is for shoddy products.

I understand anyone having brand loyalty and taking it personal if some go another route. I own your favorite brand as well, and yes they make a fine reel, but that does mean other companies make inferior products.

I have yet to read or hear about a negative report regarding a Cabo reel, here's one favorable review,http://www.reelreports.com/tackle-reviews/spinning-reels/Quantum/quantum-cabo-pts.html but If one were to dig deep enough I'm sure there is a conflicting report out there.

I base my opinion on personal ownership, the reel is solid and well built, smooth with an excellent drag, performs flawless. Being objective and comparing this reel to the stradic the only drawback is weight, but for me it isn't a big deal. I would have no qualms in buying another or a stradic for that matter.

I would say that if you are looking for a frog rod to skip hollow frogs under over hanging cover then the Quantum would probably be a perfect fit since everytime you see Rojas fishing a frog he is putting it in places that aren't possible without skipping it.  This is just my opinion and you know what they say about that BUT when you ask one of the very best frog fishermen out there to design a FROG rod, I wouldn't question it too much.   :o

will i think your right  just wanted to see what other people had to say about the rod. I use a Kistler mag. jig and toad right now but i am having a hard time skipping the frog. So i might just go ahead and get that Rojas rod and try it out.

My opinion, for what it is worth, is that the Rojas rod, along with the rest of the Tour PT rod line up, is pretty darn good for the price and then some.

I admit I am a G.Loomis man first and foremost, but I do own a few Tour PT rods, including the Dean rod and absolutely love them. There light, sensitive and strong rods. Now there not G.Loomis Light or Sensitive, but there not anything thats going to wear you out fishing them all day plus there plenty sensitive and IMO there actually stronger then the G.Loomis rods.

With that said however, I am not to crazy about the new signature ones with the goofy colors and split foam grips, prefer cork and plain old mat black blank color, but thats just a personal preference thing.

As for Quantum reels, I think my screen name says it all and no I am not sponsored by them nor do I work for them. I am however a tournament angler and these reels  or rods would not be allowed in my boat unless I truly believed in them, trust them and have total confidence in them, of which I do.

SirSnookalot, you have been posting here long enough to know about Road Warrior's dislike of Quantum products and arguing with him is pointless. I think a dog named Quantum must have bit him in the arse at some point!!!! ;D

You must know that he believes that if you use Quantum equipment you can't be much of a fisherman. Which we know is total BS!!

I don't put much stock in most of his comments, if you find something you like and has treated you well, that's reason enough to buy it and enjoy it!!

We can't all be experts on the art of fishing!! :o

To my satisfaction I believe my point has been made and I do understand where RW is coming from, the only thing he and I will ever agree upon is that the sun rises and sets everyday.  I respect his opinion whether I agree with it or not, he's a bright guy.

In total fairness to RW I truly feel he does a fine job as a MODERATOR and Br is lucky to have him in this role, he puts a smile on my face each day.
