is this line really that bad?? i've read mixed reviews of this line i wanted to get some opinions from you guys, i wanted to spool some of the crimson red color to my reel, but reading some of the reviews for this line makes me want to just stick with co-polymer lines...  what fluorocarbons do you guys use any help would be nice i never spooled 100% fluoro before so your advice would be appreciated..

I used it a couple of years ago. 17lb broke on a hook set. I would go with 100% if you want Fluorocarbon, I do not know what it is with the Transition but I had bad results. Now the new Transition Copolymer I had good results with

The general consensus among most on this site is that it breaks easily(Knot), is hard to manage, and has too much memory. There are a lot better lines out there.

Just thought I'd throw that out there before the mods see this. It's been beat to death a jillion times.

Go with the 100% Trilene FC... you'll be glad you did.

It is total garbage, go with Trilene or Stren 100%

I have used it for 3 or 4 seasons with no trouble!

I never lost a fish on Vanish but all the trash talk prompted me to switch to BPS, P-Line, and Seaguar.  The latest Vanish boxes say "improved" so maybe it's now better.  But I ask myself - why sell Vanish and come out with a new, expensive fluoro like Trilene?  Since "low viz" is reason #1 why we buy fluoro, I can't see an advantage of a fluoro color transition line.

I used it all season and had good results in so much as that it didn't produce any "bad" results.  Never experienced any of the "hard to cast" issues I read about here, or any of the line breakage I read about either.  So it did what it said it would do.  It's decently sensitive also.

I was also recommended to use this line because it was supposed to be easy to see above the water and invisible below the water by the way it turns colors in sunlight.  Turns out it's not easy to see above the water except when it's wound on the spool and turns bright orange.  As you fish it and it's out on the water, you can't see it any better than any other clear line.  The transition part was a waste, might as well have been crystal clear only.

Still no complaints overall with using it, but when I respool over the winter I will be switching to something else.  I paid good money for the Berkley Vanish Transisions and did not get and real advantage for doing so.  It just did the job and that's about all I can say for it.
