Vendetta for Drop Shot and General Purpose. Please Help!

Featured Replies

Looking into a new spinning rod for drop shot mainly, and general purpose. I have narrowed it down to these three. Which would you guys recommend/suggest?

6'6" M/MF

6'9" ML/XF

7'    M/F

6'9" ML/XF

Did you try holding their spinning rods yet? I realize it's subjective, but the feel of their spinning rods felt "heavy" to me and felt nothing like their casting rod counterparts.

If I had to, I would also take the already given recommendation for drop shotting in terms to action and length.

Unless your buying these online..take your reel and mount it up...Personally I favor longer rods too..so I'd opt for the 6'9".  :)

I don't understand the fascination by some to have a short, ML-L rod for dropshotting.  I've heard a lot of people say the like a shorter, lighter rod.  What's the advantage?  Personally I would go 7'M-F/XF

I agree. I like a longer rod too. That's why I haven't bought the Loomis DSR. I don't think I would like an XF rod though. I do think some rods XF is alot faster than other companies XF.

A dropshot rod to me would need to be extra sensitive. I like to really feel the bottom, and feel any differences in the bottom....In the end, I guess I'd like to find a GLX DSR.
