Cheap - All around rod choice?

Featured Replies

I broke my Lightning Rod last season trolling for pike.

I usually use this rod strictly for trolling pike, or if a non fisher friend / or dad comes with me bass fishing i let them use this rod.

Looking for something under 50 bucks. Spinning, Medium or MH, Fast or MF

Any suggestions on rods to look at?

Im headed to a bass pro after christmas need some ideas to check out.

I was looking at the new Lightning rods and Amp but im not too sure?

My kid bought me a Berkley Amp 7' M baitcaster for xmas. I'm not supposed to know but he showed it to me. I haven't fished it but it feels very nice for the money, 30.00. For me it'll be a crankin, topwater or spinnerbaits. Won't know til I throw it though. I have another Berkley, the 6'6" Tactix Dropshot/Finesse TXS661MLF. This rod sells for about 65 bucks and is quite nice for the price. Sensitive.

Why not get another Lightning rod? I have one from the 80's that my wife uses, (I can't get her to use anything else, she loves it). That rod has caught literally, thousands of fish, and still going strong. How can you beat 20+ years for $40?

Look at the all star classics...  they go on sale for $30 every other month at Academy.  They are legitimate bass rods...  which is rare in that price category.

X2.

X3, get another Lightning rod.

Or two Berkely Cherrywoods, that way you'll have to get another reel.
