Is this a great rod? and if so which cumara model should i get for a shakeyhead/weightless senko rod?

btw this is a spinning rod i am asking about.

This probably wont answer your question, but I just got the 6'8" MHF casting rod for weightless senkos and ikas. Its realllllly nice, by my standards (I had been fishing berkley lightning rods before.)

7'2" Medium Fast. An XF might be another option. I have the 7'2" MXF and I think it works great for the techniques you want it for but I tend to like XF rods over F rods for those applications.

I was tinkering about in getting one this weekend at the Bass Expo in Richmond.  Great rod, VERY light, and sensitive!  The IM10, is really unbeatable!  While I was looking at the Cumaras one Shimano rep told me, they have an "over the counter," guaruntee, while another said he was not sure.  check into that before buying.  But, IM10 graphite rod, that is almost cheating it is so sensitive!  I ended up not getting one, for $$ reasons at the time.  But, I will get one in the future!

If I can land a 7 1/2 lb trout on a cheap 29.00 spinning rig with 3lb test, you can certainly handle a "big" bass on that rig...

I know more than a few guys that have the Cumara rods, paired up with Curados..nad they fish them alot..they are pretty satisfiyed with them.

o, i was gonna get mine for spinning since its for finese.

Spinning, baitcasting...they are both good rods.. ;D

I personally use a CUS68M for this. I have coupled it with a Stadic 2500FI and use PowerPro braid and a floro leader. I love this set up for shakey heads especially. And I agree with others the Cumara is very sensative. You can almost feel a fish smell the bait as it swims by. OK maybe it's not that sensative but it is a very good rod. The crucials are also excellent if you want to save a few dollars.

i have the cus68m spinning and the cucx68mh casting and i love them both. they are used for plastics only. depending on the situation. whether it calls for spinnning or casting. i will be getting 2 more in spring in the reaction series.

I own both 7'2 and 6'8 and I would stay away from the extra fast for senko's and shakey heads. I use the extra fast for drop-shotting because the upper couple feet are wimpy like an ugly stick. Wacky rigging a senko you could do no problem with this rod but texas rigging you will not be able to get a good hookset and I would never even try to throw a shakey head on it. The Cumara extra fast seems a lot quicker to flex than other rods. If I have a 2 pound smallie on the drop-shot the rod is 3/4 over. I wouldn't want to see it on the hookset of a solid fish. So that is what I use the 6'8 for.

if i got the SHICUS72M would that be the best setup for shakeyhead, senkos, and possible swimming jigs?

Not for the swimming jigs. I would recommend a medium heavy if not heavy rod because chances are you are throwing a swim jig in cover a spinnerbait or cranks can't get through. So you want something you can make that hook punch through the weedguard and the fish. Then get the fish out of the cover.

I would use the medium before a cranking rod. Different actions.

I picked up the cumara, and it was on sale at the local tackleshop for $150! which i am pretty sure was an amazing price.
