Well, I guess it is more of a lack of patience than a lack of dexterity. Which reel manufacturers are known to overlube? I bought a Core, and I want to get the most out of it...

If you just got it, fish it like you stole it, while its under warranty.  Once out of warranty, have a pro do the work.

Sounds like sage advice- if the ice would go away, I'd get started...

Many manufacturers over lube, but like JFrancho said, it won't do any harm to fish it and break it in. After you get it serviced it'll come back better than new!
