Does anyone own this reel? What do you think of this reel and I was wondering if you can take the twitching bar off.

twitching bar is great. I found myself using it so much I bought three of these.

I just bought this reel on Craigslist for 70$ and its def pretty smooth.  Only thing I'm annoyed at is right now Tackle Warehouse has it on sale for 99$ brand new.  Would've rathered spent the extra 30$ and gotten it new but oh well.

You might be able to if you took the worm gear out, slid out the twitch'n bar , and put the gear back in................i'll tell you what, i wouldnt take that risk!!!!!!!!

Ive had mine for years since it was over $200 and now that its at $99 its a no brainer. You probably wouldnt want to take the twitching bar out even if you could. Theres no real point. Its most useful if your pitching or something and need to engage he reel quickly without fubling around. Also to pick up slack before setting the hook or if your a little preoccupied with something else. It also gives a perfect hop to jigs.

i have the megaforce, and the twitchin' bar was the selling point for me. i wouldnt take it off even if i wasnt gonna use it. totaly out of the way. works very well for jigs and workin plastics slowwwww

The twitching bar is great, you can still work a bait when your eating a sandwich!

On top of that it is a really smooth reel.
