Have to make up my mind

Featured Replies

I have to order a rod for mainly inline spinners and crappie. I ordered a Soron STX 10 to go on it. Here are my options. This will be ordered by tomorrow night so please as many people as possible chime in.

1. St.Croix Avid 6'6'' L F

2. St.Croix Avid 6'3'' ML XF

3. Falcon BuCoo 6' L slower parabolic (??)

4. Lamiglas Excel 7' ML

5. E21 Carrot Gold 6'2'' ML

6. E21 Carrot Gold 7'2'' ML

If your budget allows:  Avid, L or ML based upon the heaviest baits you would ever throw on it.

With the Avid you won't wonder if you should have "steped up" and you'll have the ability to use a benchmark for quality.  One the other hand, go with one of the others if you're anxious to try out split grips.

From those, Avid without a thought.

Lamiglas... 'nuff said. Nothing against St. Croix, but the lamis feel much better in my hand. I get the perception that Lamiglas rods are underrated and understated and when you mention Lamiglas, people think, crankbait rod. That is sad. If you don't like it, I'll buy it from you. ;)

here's a review of an excel. While it isn't a spinning rod, you can get the gist from it with regard to good bang for the buck.

anybody else have anything to say towards lamiglass or st.croix to steer me in either direction.

from your list ive only fished with st. croix avids.

i would not hesitate to buy an avid. you can always upgrade it for $50 plus difference, should you decide you need a brand new legend elite worm rod in 3 yrs.

check out st. croix's warranty
