Ardent reels

Recommended Posts

I have been looking at their reels and I was wondering if anyone here uses them and what you think about them.

Ah, they'd be nice if you wanted something "different". But if you wanted a nice reel (and didn't have a huge amount of expensive reels) I'd go with something else, such as one of the Curado E's or the Revo's.

But if you've tried the Curado's, Revo's, etc and want something different than an Ardent may make you happy.

I have Revo's and Curados. Do you own an Ardent reel or have you used one? I would like to hear an opinion from someone who uses them.

Thanks but I will just pass on this one, I was just curious about them. It would be great to see a US company make out.

U.S. companies might start to "make out" if the products they made were judged by performance rather than misplaced national loyalty. You don't raise a child right by overlooking mistakes, you do so by correcting them, quickly.

It's remarkable how quickly people get sucked into this "American Made" campaign which is actually financed by the same groups who are sitting in the driver's seat of America's decline from shining example to Third World toilet.

I don't have a blind loyalty to any company, product, or nation. But I do support US jobs, your job, when I can.

Have you used an Ardent? They are fine reels, a little heavy, and ugly as hell. Last I checked it was fishing, not a beauty pageant. I recently got rid of my Ardent, and never had an issue with it. I could cast a mile, brakes were easy to adust, and it could take an abuse. I highly reccomend an Ardent reel.

Only the people with jobs can and will beat a path to anyone's door to buy anything.

I have found out that Ardent has improved many of the things that were not liked about their reels and their sales are up 140% last year.

I have nothing what so ever to do with Ardent, I have never held one of their reels in my hand. I have heard a lot about them and just was asking the people who use them what their thoughts are about them. Seems like I opened a can of worms here.

My point was peripherally pointed at the Ardent or any other American product for that matter.  Rewarding mediocrity is a straight line to a dead end.  Subsidizing ineptitude hurts the consumer.

Maybe before butchering and re arranging words around in a post, some questions could be asked as to why I decided to part with it. I traded this reel for a fair amount of swimbaits. Nothing was wrong with the reel, at all, just felt I could get the most out of that reel in a trade.

But in my opinion Ardent reels are above mediority. I'm loyal to my country just as much as anyone else, but when it comes to buying a product "made in the USA" has little impact in my purchase. You can polish a turd all day, its still a turd.

Has Ardent been subsidised by anybody? Not that I know of. If Ardent builds a bad product they will  not last long, and they shouldn't. I am pulling for them, I hope they can raise their level to ABU, Shimano and others. If they do I will buy their reels. And if they can do that they will create better jobs for the people in that area who are working for minimum wage without benefits. And that is what it needs to happen to get this economy fixed, the small guy with a vision, and a dream and the guts to make it happen. Not the multi million dollar corporations who are fueled by greed and have sent so many good jobs over seas.

There are many products coming into this country now that are inferior to the ones that were once produced here, but we have to buy them, we don't have a choice because their cheaper prices drove the US companies out of business.

I think if a person loses a good paying job to a foriegn product it will change their attitude about supporting the US companies.

Okay guys. No edits or deletions, but this

thread has drifted way off track. Some may

say you're still addressing the reel, but that's

not how I see it.

This thread is closed.
