revo sx

Featured Replies

I'm a diehard shimano fan but that doesn't make me an exclusive shimano fan.  found a revo sx @ local tackle store for $100.  6.4 :1.  I was thinking about moving this reel to the rod I use for lipless cranks and taking the curado e5 off and making it my deep cranks and wobble head set up.  how does everyone like the sx.  all opinions welcome

i have a SX , got to say i love it ! it is the 7.1:1 reel tho , but just the same , it is a very smooth , excellent casting reel . 6.4:1 is a very versatile gear ratio ( i have that gear ratio on my INSHORE) for a hundred bucks , i would definitely go for it

I have two, one 6.4 and one 7.1 and got one for my son-in-law.  I like them alot and at 100.00 you can fish it and if you don't like it, sell it for what you paid for it.

I have no experience with the older SX, but the newer SX are just as a good as an equivalent shimano, Smooth, powerful drag.  But I love both brands equally, I have Calcutta TE's and Revo SX's so I can't complain with either.

Best $100 reel you'll own. I own SX and Premier (and a handful BPS, Quantums, and Shimanos). Love the revo line!!!!

I just got one paid 169 tho DARN!!!!

JUMP ON IT! I assume its last years model (which I own in that ratio), it will be perfect for lipless baits and last a long time.

I have three of them and an stx. the sx is a great reel.I got a deal at gander mnt. for the stx.i think there trying to dump last years models since they changed them a little this year.

Weren't the only differences between the old SX and the new one purely cosmetic? Bent handle/drag star and some red added?

I think the magnetic brakes and the spool were tweaked.

they moved to the "infini II" spool design and reconfigured the magnets, making them stronger. IIRC, the new SX has two rows of magnets now instead of one.

I just picked up 2 of them from area Walmarts for $74 each. They didnt have any boxes but I felt the deal was worth it.

Good buy. I also owned that reel and really liker it for throwing spooks a mile. I had mine on a MBR724c and really liked the set up.
