baitcasting reel origins

so i was researching for a college paper one night and came upon a pretty cool tidbit. i know this may be "old" news for some, but i sure didnt know about it! The very first baitcaster was invented in by a central kentucky local by the name of George Snyder of Paris, ky, just a couple miles down the road from where i live. it can be found in this link:

pretty neat article. I think more fisherman should know about where their gear was invented, kinda like Thomas Edison and the light bulb...

makes you thankfull for it thats for sure. baitcasters have such a huge impact in fishing it makes ya wonder what it would be like w/o em!
